Mr. Light serves as “of counsel” in the office. He joined Crenshaw Ware & Martin after a 32 year career with Norfolk Southern Corporation's (and Norfolk and Western Railway company's before that) law department, when he served in a variety of roles leading to that of Chief Legal Officer at the end of his career. His primary areas of expertise have been rail litigation, business litigation, railroad operating matters, and the audit/finance concerns of a large publicly traded transportation company. He brings to the firm his broad view of the law and an acute sensitivity to how businesses are impacted by their interfaces with the legal system.

Relevant Experience

Served in the U. S. Navy, both as a line officer and a member of the Underwater Demolition Teams.
Worked for 4 years as an associate for a large Cleveland, Ohio law firm in its litigation department, trying minor litigated matters before bench and jury.
Represented a publicly traded transportation company on a wide variety of matters in many areas of the law over a 32 year career.
Active in a number of non profit organizations over the years, many in leadership roles.
